AWIP USA is pleased to announce that Nicole Devilbiss has been sentenced to 51 months in prison after pleading guilty to charges related to the creation and distribution of animal crush videos. These videos depicted the brutal torture and killing of monkeys, reflecting a shocking level of cruelty and disregard for animal life.
Investigators uncovered that Devilbis not only shared dozens of these horrific videos but also financially supported the creation of more. As an administrator of a group dedicated to sharing these videos for profit, her actions have deeply shocked and outraged the public and animal lovers worldwide.
Thousands of AWIP supporters rallied to demand justice for these innocent monkeys, raising awareness and calling for the strongest possible penalties. The sentence handed down to Devilbis reflects the severity of her crimes and serves as a stern warning to others who might engage in such barbaric acts.
Jacob Lloyd, Executive Director of the Animal Welfare Investigations Project, praised the efforts of law enforcement agencies involved in the case, stating, “We commend the tireless work of the investigators and prosecutors who brought Nicole Devilbis to justice. Their dedication and thoroughness have ensured that this appalling cruelty did not go unpunished. The 51-month sentence reflects the seriousness of the crime and sends a clear message that such acts of animal cruelty will not be tolerated.”
Lloyd continued, “We are incredibly grateful to our supporters whose voices were instrumental in demanding justice for these monkeys. Their advocacy and passion have helped shine a light on this case and reinforce the importance of strong legal consequences for those who harm animals.”
While this sentencing marks a significant victory, Animal Welfare Investigations Project remains committed to fighting animal cruelty worldwide. The work to protect animals continues, and public support is crucial in this ongoing battle.
